"A beautiful warm sunny tour given by the extremely knowledgable Barnaby. We walked miles and learnt so much. Barnaby explained things in a very understandable way with just the right amount of humour when appropriate. Toilet stop and a great lunch with a trip on the S-Bahn to finish. To be recommended. Thank you Barnaby."
"My partner and I traveled with our wonderful guide, Chloe, to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. We cannot express enough gratitude to this smart, talented, and gifted historian for sharing her knowledge with us. Setting foot in a concentration camp is something that we believe all individuals (irrespective of citizenry) should do at least once in their lives. Although we may learn a little about this devastating part of human history, it isn't until we actually actually stand in the shadows of this depravity that we can have an understanding of the horror we are capable of inflicting upon each other. Chloe asked thought provoking questions, provided detailed historical accounts of the events that led up to and followed the holocaust, and she reminded us to always remember the complexity of the motivations and decisions that were made by all individuals associated with this atrocity. This was a spectacular tour led by a top-notch guide. Oh, and when we were done, Chloe walked us directly to our platform and saw that we were safely aboard our train to our hotel in Alexanderplatz. Thank you, Chloe!"
"Josh was very personable, accessible, responsive and gave a wonderful, historic, detailed, all-inclusive 4 hour walking tour of Berlin. Highly recommended!!"
"We had a great tour -despite the showery and cold weather. Our tour guide , Phil, was very knowledgeable and entertaining and his interaction made the tour extremely enjoyable. I would highly recommend this walking tour as it is not too difficult on the feet and the route takes in most of the city highlights. "
"Another brilliant tour, guided by Jamie. Having lived through the Cold War period ourselves this great tour gave us so much greater understanding of how German citizens were impacted by the geopolitical events following the Second World War. Jamie’s deep knowledge brought it all to life. Great job Jamie. Thanks, When we return we will do more tours. "
"Great tour. Pip has amazing knowledge and insight and it was highly informative. As frequent visitors to Berlin looking after grandchildren, we thought we knew a lot, but Pip was brilliant at communicating the history and it’s impact on the developing city. We will do more tours when we return."
"A brilliant and informative tour by a great guy, who knows his stuff inside out! I am now a convert to walking tours. Thanks Nickolai"
"Ronan is excellent. Knowledgeable without being boring. Funny. Well purposed. Engaging. Looked after the group well. Some guides seem to just love the attention. But Ronan seems to be interested in sharing his passion for history and interest with others. A natural. "
"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hours spent on the Berlin Walking Tour. We thought about a red bus tour at first but decided against it in favour of a walking tour. How lucky we were. David was our tour guide and he was superb. He was charismatic, humorous, incredibly knowledgeable and wonderfully passionate about his work. He truly loved Berlin. Had we been staying longer we would have undoubted signed up for more tours with David. Insider Tours have a real star in their ranks. Many Manthorpe thanks indeed. "Cannot thank Mike enough for showing us around Berlin and all of the amazing facts he gave us along the way. Opened our eyes to the history of Berlin and showed us what a beautiful city it is. He was so full of knowledge, dates and even remembered everyone in the groups names, now that’s impressive! There was a big group of us and somehow he made sure nobody was left out, he took the time to ge to know us all individually. He showed us the best angles to get amazing photos and even took some photos for us. The tour over ran by one hour as we had a lot of questions (which he had the answers to) and he still offered to stay later to help make sure we all got to our next destination safely. Me and my friend (Becky) had never been to Berlin before and it was our first full day there and we saw more than we ever would, we saw things we never knew existed and we felt so comfortable that we were with someone who knew the way around. Mike spoke loudly and clearly without shouting and also had photos as props so we could see some of the before and afters of some locations and buildings. Mike also helped us buy our train tickets which were needed for the first part of the tour. Even down to the little details such as making sure we all crossed the roads safely, he was amazing! In the excitement of it all we regretfully forgot to tip him at the end of the tour so we took a trip back to the meeting point the day after and unfortunately he wasn’t there, so if you’re reading this Mike, we love you and thank you for an amazing day you made our holiday!!!"
