This is the tour to take if you want to put your finger on the pulse of Berlin. How did this once run-down and divided city become the capital of cool? The former mayor himself memorably labelled the city ‘poor but sexy’. We explain how the unification of the communist East with the capitalist West has produced a diverse, vibrant and exciting new German capital. If you want to get a sense of the true face of the city today, beyond the tourist trail, then come with us on a tour of multiple, unique Berlin neighbourhoods. You will discover a city where gentrification is rife, alternative culture is thriving, immigration and assimilation are adding diversity and corporate culture is continually transforming the urban landscape.

Potential sights for this tour are: the districts of Kreuzberg, Mitte, Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, the East Side Gallery, R.A.W Gelände, the courtyards of Hackerscher Markt as well as multiple murals by famous artists like Blu, the Berlin Kidz, R.O.A and Viktor Ash.

At the conclusion of your tour your guide can give you tips on how best to maximise your remaining time in Berlin.

Insider Reviews

Excellent

My study abroad group and I were lucky enough to do a walking tour of Berlin. Our guide was absolutely amazing; she knew pretty much everything about the entire city. She’s very smart and very funny and she made the tour go by too fast! Highly recommend this tour.

Most amazing tour of Berlin

Ask for Brian Bell - he will make your tour memorable. He has an enthusiastic passion about Germany - in particular Berlin. His historical knowledgeable is captivating. You will enjoy listening to his presentation about past and present Germany - in particular Berlin. You will yearn for more time - for sure. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Two excellent private tours

We did two private tours in two days with the wonderful Nickolai. On day one we did the Cold War tour and followed it the next day with the Berlin Today tour. Both were informative and kept two adults and two teenage boys thoroughly engrossed, interested and entertained for the entire time. Nicolai was charming and friendly and of course highly knowledgeable. We hit it off straight away and it certainly helped that we shared many world views and opinions. Highly recommended!
